Santa Monica Auto Repair

After years of owning only new cars, I just recently purchased my first used car. Overall, the car runs well but as used cars go, there have been some issues that have needed to be addressed. I did not have a regular mechanic, as all of my past cars have been new and still under warranty. I contacted a friend, who in turn, referred me to 26th Street Auto. What a GREAT find!! Everyone there is wonderful...friendly, knowledgeable, and most important HONEST!!! As a female, I have always heard stories about "shady mechanics" looking to take advantage of you...not at 26th Street Auto!!! They are fair in their pricing and their customer service is first rate!!!

Drove in to 26th Street Auto Center with a low tire light on in my car. The guys took a quick look and found a nail in the side of my tire. Unfortunately could not repair it. Good I came to these guys though as they looked at all my tires and found that the front two were actually no good. Did not realize that they handle tires directly and was pleasantly surprised with the price I was quoted( I checked around on my phone) I will be back for my next tires and probably for next oil change as well. These guys were great.

I've been going here ever since I moved to the area a few years back and since then I've recommended the place to more than a few friends. Robert, Richard, Jacqueline and their crew are awesome. Always courteous, thorough and professional. They consult you on your choices as if you were a close friend, and based on the condition of your car, tell you which items need immediate attention and which ones can wait til your next paycheck. Then they keep track of those items for you, and even recommend when to do a few things together to save money. Unlike any other mechanic I've ever been to, the folks here always seem happy, grounded and genuinely friendly. It's like a little island of sanity in la la land. They train their mechanics thoroughly and regularly (certificates line the walls) so everyone is up to date and always improving their knowledge. They work on a lot of high end cars and handle my 2001 Jeep with the same care as all the imports. Get there early if you can (8:30am is best) these guys get busy in the afternoon. While you're waiting, grab a snack at Kay and Dave's across the street.

These completely guys saved me yesterday. I pulled up to their shop 45 minutes before closing with smoke pouring out of my engine and my 5 year old daughter in the back seat. The owner himself drove to a nearby dealership to get the part I needed (and he did this TWICE, I might add, since there was a second part that was identified as broken halfway through the repair) The men working on my car were fast, friendly, and courteous, and didn't complain that they were stuck well after closing when they should have been going home. I would bring my car back here in a second, and highly recommend it to everyone. A gem!!
